Yasmeen has worked in the areas of poverty law, family law, and with Amazonian Indigenous groups seeking to protect their traditional knowledge, medicines, livelihood, and ecosystems.  Locally, she seeks to help better the standard of living, quality of life, and access to justice for marginalized and vulnerable members of society, particularly the Indigenous peoples of this land, who have been subjected to systemic racism and institutionalized violence historically.

Yasmeen currently serves as in-house Counsel for Tyhee Financial Services, managing a comprehensive asset and investment portfolio which includes commercial & residential real estate, hotels, as well as various businesses and large-scale capital projects, both on- and off-reserve.

Yasmeen is developing the legal and ethical backbone of Tyhee Financial by designing industry practices and protocols which honour traditional knowledge and recognize that collectively-held Indigenous cultural property is sacred, inviolable and inalienable. She is also responsible for drafting and overseeing legal agreements that incorporate principles of Indigenous self-governance & sovereignty, and which uphold the ethics of diversity and equality.
