Joshua Neetz

Operations Manager

Josh grew up in Mission, British Columbia, located on the unceded territory of the Sto:lo Nation. Throughout high school, Joshua worked full time as a manager at the Mission McDonald’s, while maintaining high academic standing in his studies.

After graduating from Hatzic Secondary school in 2008, Joshua moved to Victoria, British Columbia to further his education and continue gaining experience in the work force. After over four years’ experience in management and two years of full-time university studies in the Social Sciences, Josh graduated in 2013 with his Associates of Arts Degree in Psychology.

Following this, Josh shifted his focus onto studying Digital Communications, and in 2014 took on a role in administration at a law firm, focusing on marketing and policy and procedures. His roles included website maintenance, social media marketing, advertising, content creation, search engine marketing, event planning, team building initiatives, and other strategic campaigns. He later became Director of Marking and Finance, taking over the responsibilities of bookkeeping and day-to-day financial accounting operations, which included accounts payable, accounts receivable, client billing and inquiries, collections, bank reconciliations, payroll, and tax remittances.

Josh has also worked as a legal assistant and office administrator since 2010, using his considerable skill set and knowledge base to interact with clients, lawyers, and employees. As a liaison between the legal and financial communities, he is able to implement new and innovative policies and procedures designed to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Since 2016, Josh has worked for Tyhee Financial in the capacity of Operations Manager, taking charge of daily decision making and overseeing tasks aimed at representing indigenous communities and ensuring their success with business partners, associations, government agencies, and other direct affiliates. Josh’s duties include: payroll; full cycle bookkeeping; financial budget analysis and presentation; training and coaching; capital project planning and management; and implementation & maintenance of best practice policies in HR and finance departments.

Throughout this time, Josh has continued to further his education by taking advanced courses in financial accounting, bookkeeping, tax law, and business management, all of which greatly enhance his existing abilities. 

With over ten years of education and employment experience, Joshua is delighted to be an integral part of the Tyhee Financial Services team and is eager to offer his expertise to the Aboriginal financial sector.
