Jameson Long

Accounting & Chief Technology Officer

Jameson grew up in Calgary Alberta, in the traditional territory of the the Peoples of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. He was raised with a deep respect for First Nations; his father, Jack Long, being made an honorary chief of the Stoney Nation in Morley by Chief Tom Kaquitts. After graduating from Western Canada High School, he moved to British Columbia to attend the University of Victoria, where he graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts. 

While pursuing a career in the arts, Jameson worked as a cook, landscaper, and carpenter. In 1997, he started his design company, Monster Chops Creative Inc., which continues to this day. His work at Monster Chops primarily focuses on website design and maintenance for many government and professional websites, including the Government and Service Employees' Union, CUPE BC, Compensation Employees’ Union, and Schwalbe Tires. As president, Jameson oversees client and project management, business development, website design, as well as the building and maintenance of many associated websites. 

Starting in 2016, Jameson migrated his skills from running and managing Monster Chops Creative to working as a bookkeeper. His current work includes: managing and invoicing clients; reconciling credit card, general, and trust accounts; financial and compliance reporting; processing monthly PST payments; managing and processing contract fees and payroll for employees and associates; managing  invoices and paying vendors; IT support and web design, marketing & maintenance; and organizing, filing, and overseeing all office accounting. Jameson is proficient in PC Law, Sage Accounting, MS Word, Excel, HTML, CSS, Drupal and Photoshop.  

Jameson Long continues to work as a fine artist www.jamesonlong.ca, currently making large-scale paintings of the forests of the Pacific Northwest coast. 

Jameson brings his unique set of skills to the Tyhee Financial Services team. He is excited to help Tyhee Financial provide the utmost professional services to First Nations throughout British Columbia.
