Like Rex, Dayna is a member of the Cayoose Creek Indian Band of Lillooet, British Columbia. She grew up in Mission, British Columbia on the Lower Mainland.

After graduating high school in 2008, Dayna completed one year of post secondary at the University of the Fraser Valley before making the decision to move to Victoria and enjoy life on Vancouver Island, in 2009. Dayna satisfied her English requirements and took some electives at the University of Victoria where she discovered a passion for criminal justice.  During her time at the University of Victoria, Dayna applied to study abroad and was accepted to Orebro University in Sweden for one year in 2011.  This year expanded Dayna’s passion for travel as she immersed herself in various cultures and ways of life throughout the year.

In 2014, Dayna completed her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Studies at Camosun College, and in 2016 she earned her BA in Justice Studies through Royal Roads University.

Dayna has begun her career path in the criminal justice field.  In addition to her position at Tyhee Financial Services Ltd., she is also employed as a counsellor at Manchester House, a halfway house through the John Howard Society for provincial and federal offenders on parole.

​

Dayna enjoys engaging and working with the First Nations population in her line of work. A believer in a well-rounded education, Dayna hopes to one day run education programs for offenders, with a focus on societal reintegration for the Aboriginal population within the criminal justice system.

Dayna is very fortunate to be a part of the team at Tyhee Financial Services Ltd.  She enjoys being able to further her knowledge in Aboriginal relations and looks forward to future endeavours with the company.
